Washington, July 24 (QNA) - Measles cases in the United States have reached their highest level since 1991, with 2,318 cases reported since the beginning of this year.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported today that 2,318 confirmed cases of the disease have been recorded since the beginning of the year, exceeding the total number of cases reported throughout the past year and surpassing the highest level in 35 years.
The CDC stated that 2,302 cases have been reported in 45 states, while 16 cases have been identified among foreign visitors as of yesterday. The CDC also noted that 2,289 confirmed cases were recorded in 2025.
It should be noted that measles is among the most contagious diseases in the world, and it often spreads during periods of increased travel such as spring break or in situations where unvaccinated people are in crowded places. (QNA)
