New York, July 24 (QNA) - Members of the International Criminal Court (ICC) voted today to dismiss Prosecutor Karim Khan.
Diplomatic sources reported that more than 80 of the 125 member states of the court voted in a secret ballot at the United Nations headquarters in New York to remove Khan from his post.
The same sources explained that the dismissal came after Khan was charged with crimes, which he denied. His lawyers described the procedures that led to the vote against him as illegal, procedurally unfair, and lacking evidence.
Khan, a British lawyer specializing in international criminal law and human rights law, has served as the ICC's chief prosecutor since 2021. (QNA)
