Kuwait City, July 21 (QNA) - The Kuwaiti Cabinet has held Iran fully responsible for the attacks targeting the country, as well as for their fallout.

It added that the repeated targeting of civilian and critical facilities lays bare a methodical belligerent approach amounting to an extremely perilous escalation and posing a grave threat to the safety and security of civilians.

Convening on Tuesday, the Cabinet issued a strongly worded denunciation of Iran's aggression using missiles and one-way attack drones against Kuwait over the past few days, which struck two power generation and water desalination plants, oil sector facilities, and several vital installations.

The Cabinet further stressed that these attacks flagrantly violate the country's sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, and gravely run roughshod over international law, international humanitarian law, the UN Charter, and UN Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026).

The continuation of this aggressive approach imperils regional security and stability and vitiates the ongoing de-escalation efforts, as well as efforts to reach peaceful solutions, the Cabinet underlined.

It re-emphasized that Kuwait retains the full right to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty, security, and stability, and to defend its territory and critical facilities against any aggression or threat.

In this context, the Cabinet vigorously denounced the egregious Iranian attacks on Qatar, Bahrain, and Jordan over the past few days as a flagrant breach of their sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as a direct threat to their peoples and residents.

It asserted that Kuwait stands fully with the brotherly nations in support of all measures they take to address the implications of these attacks so as to safeguard their sovereignty, territorial integrity, security, and stability.

In addition, the Cabinet confirmed that Kuwait strongly denounced the false claims made by the Houthi military spokesperson against Saudi Arabia, as well as the threats to freedom of navigation and maritime security.

It reiterated that Kuwait stands firmly by Saudi Arabia in all measures it takes to protect its security and sovereignty, reaffirming that it stands side by side with the Kingdom in all actions it takes to safeguard its security and sovereignty.

The Cabinet also re-emphasized that Saudi Arabia's security is part and parcel of Kuwait's security and that of the GCC states. (QNA)
