Manama, July 21 (QNA) - Bahrain expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the threats issued by the Houthi group against Saudi Arabia, saying the statements contained false allegations, incitement, and irresponsible escalation that undermine regional security and stability.
It added that the threats posed a danger to maritime navigation, international trade, and innocent civilians, in blatant violation of international law, the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
In a statement, Bahrain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the Kingdom's unwavering solidarity with Saudi Arabia, stressing that Saudi Arabia's security was an integral part of Bahrain's own security. The ministry also expressed its full support for all legitimate measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty, security, stability, and territorial integrity.
The ministry emphasized the need for coordinated international efforts to protect maritime security in the Red Sea, the Bab El Mandeb Strait, and other vital waterways in order to safeguard global energy supplies and international trade.
It also reiterated Bahrain's appreciation for Saudi Arabia's diplomatic, humanitarian, and development efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive and lasting political solution to the Yemeni crisis in accordance with the Gulf Initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference, and relevant UN Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216, in a manner that preserves Yemen's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity while fulfilling the aspirations of its people for security, stability, and sustainable prosperity.
