New York, July 02 (QNA) - The State of Qatar, represented by the National Counter-Terrorism Committee, participated in the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Week, which was held in New York City, USA, from Jun. 26 to Jul. 2, 2026.

On the sidelines of the week's activities, the Qatari delegation held a meeting with UN Executive Director of the Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate Natalia Gherman.

The delegation also met with Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Under-Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism Alexander Zuev, in the presence of several officials from the office.

The two meetings dealt with discussing the existing cooperation between the State of Qatar and both the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism and the Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate, and ways to enhance coordination in the areas of counter-terrorism and capacity building were discussed, in addition to exchanging views on other topics of joint interest.

The State of Qatar's participation in the week's activities reflects its commitment to supporting international efforts to combat terrorism and to strengthening its partnership with the United Nations and its relevant agencies, to enhancing national capabilities, exchanging experiences, and benefiting from the best international practices in this field.
