Kuwaiti Defense Ministry: Iranian Ballistic Missiles, Drones Intercepted
Kuwait, July 18 (QNA) - Kuwait's Ministry of Defense announced that it intercepted and dealt with hostile ballistic missiles and drones over Kuwaiti airspace in the early hours of Saturday.
In a statement, Kuwaiti Defense Ministry Spokesman Colonel Saud Al Atwan said that the heinous Iranian attacks targeted a number of military and security installations, in addition to several vital civilian facilities, including oil production, power, and water-desalination plants.
The attacks caused fires and damage to infrastructure at those facilities, he noted.
Relevant authorities were able to contain the situation and repair the damage, Colonel Al Atwan said, yet two oil sector employees were injured while carrying out their duties and were transferred to receive the necessary medical treatment.
Intercepting the ballistic missiles and drones resulted in debris falling in several locations and residential areas, causing material damage but no reported casualties, he said. (QNA)
