Russian Barrage Across Ukraine Leaves 6 Dead, Dozens Injured
Kyiv, July 11 (QNA) - The death toll from the attack Russia launched Saturday on multiple parts of Ukraine rose to six, with dozens wounded.
Local sources reported that four other people were killed and 17 others were injured when two bombs struck a crowded area in the city of Sumy in northern Ukraine.
Two other people were also killed and a third was injured earlier today in a missile attack on the southern Ukrainian coastal city of Odesa, while a drone slammed into a civilian facility in the eastern city of Kharkiv, injuring seven more people.
Eleven people were injured in Kyiv in an attack involving ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones.
In a statement, the Ukrainian Air Force said Russia had launched six ballistic missiles, six cruise missiles and 121 drones, adding that it had shot down at least two cruise missiles and 111 drones before the attacks hit the cities of Odesa, Kharkiv and Sumy.
The confrontations between Russia and Ukraine have escalated sharply in recent days, with the two parties exchanging salvos that targeted oil facilities and critical infrastructure in both countries.
These attacks resulted in casualties and material damage. Additionally, the two parties have exchanged declarations of shooting down drones on an almost daily basis, as those claims have yet to be independently verified due to the persistent confrontations between the two sides since February 2022.
