Arab League Condemns Ongoing Iranian Attacks on Gulf States, Jordan
Cairo, July 12 (QNA) - The Arab League strongly condemned the continued Iranian attacks targeting Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Jordan, reaffirming its rejection of any actions that violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Arab states or threaten their security and stability.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy said the attacks were unjustifiable and stressed that the security of Arab states is indivisible. He added that any violation of the sovereignty of an Arab country requires a united and decisive Arab response.
The League also condemned Iran's continued policies and actions that undermine regional security and stability, saying they violate international law, the UN Charter, UN Security Council Resolution 2817, and the principles of good neighborly relations. It further cited repeated Iranian attacks on commercial vessels, warning that they pose a threat to the safety and freedom of international navigation.
The League reaffirmed solidarity with the affected Arab states and its support for all legitimate measures they take to defend their sovereignty, protect their security, and safeguard their populations.
It also called on the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities by taking effective action to halt these violations, uphold international law, and ensure the security of international navigation, thereby contributing to regional security and stability. (QNA)
