Microsoft Halts Production of Budget Surface Laptops to Focus on AI Capabilities
Washington, July 11 (QNA) - Microsoft has officially discontinued production of two of its budget-focused lines—the Surface Go 4 and Surface Laptop Go 3.
According to the company, the move is part of a broader strategy to redirect development and production toward its flagship, higher-end devices, including the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop lineups, to expand and integrate advanced artificial intelligence features across its core products.
Separately, Microsoft has also shelved earlier plans to develop a Surface Go 5, citing weak demand among business customers for devices powered by low-power, entry-level processors and a preference for more powerful systems.
The shift underscores Microsoft's increased focus on incorporating next-generation Snapdragon X2 processors into future Surface devices to fully support AI-powered features and strengthen its competitive position in the market. (QNA)
