Doha, July 01 (QNA) - Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has launched a public awareness campaign to encourage eligible patients to undergo annual health checkups, as part of efforts to strengthen preventive healthcare services, improve access to care and promote early disease detection.

Assistant Managing Director for Clinical Affairs and Executive Director of Operations at PHCC, Dr. Samya Ahmad Al Abdulla, said the campaign targets eligible Qatari patients registered at the corporation's health centers. The initiative will use text messages to invite recipients to take advantage of the annual health checkup service, with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of routine screenings and their role in disease prevention and early diagnosis.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Al Abdullah said the campaign is designed to increase awareness of the annual health checkup service and encourage patients to request appointments through self-referral by calling 107. She added that the initiative also seeks to increase engagement with preventive healthcare services in line with the corporation's vision of improving community health and quality of life.

She said PHCC has completed preparations to ensure its health centers are ready to accommodate beneficiaries of the campaign. Patients may call 107 to schedule an annual health checkup, while all patients aged 18 and older are also eligible to access the service without a prior appointment.

PHCC health centers provide the annual health checkup service around the clock, serving self-referred patients, walk-in patients and those with scheduled appointments, helping ensure convenient access and continuity of care.

The corporation noted that the initial health assessment must be conducted in person at a health center. Follow-up consultations may be conducted remotely when clinically appropriate, providing greater flexibility in service delivery while accommodating patients' needs.

PHCC reaffirmed that the service remains fully operational and readily accessible, adding that it has the capacity to efficiently manage any increase in demand resulting from the text-message campaign. The initiative reflects the corporation's commitment to delivering high-quality preventive healthcare services that promote community well-being and improve public health outcomes. (QNA)
