Designers from Qatar Debut in North America at Toronto Fashion Art Week
Toronto, June 02 (QNA) - Three Qatari and resident designers made their North American runway debut at Fashion Art Toronto, showcasing their collections to an international audience as part of the Qatar–Canada and Mexico 2026 Year of Culture.
Representing M7, Doha's innovation and entrepreneurship center for fashion, design and technology, the designers presented their work on one of Canada's leading platforms for independent fashion and contemporary arts.
The participation highlights the growing role of the creative industries in strengthening cultural and economic ties between Qatar and Canada.
Through mentorship, professional development programs and international opportunities, M7 has become a key platform for supporting emerging talent and expanding its global reach.
Among the featured designers, Nouf Al Mulla, founder of the LIN label, unveiled her collection "Her Aura, Her Season," characterized by flowing silhouettes, natural fabrics and understated elegance.
Crafted from linen and silk, the collection explored themes of movement, fluidity and quiet confidence through refined, minimalist designs.
Designer Samah Suleiman presented "Jeu de Denim," a sustainability-focused collection that reimagines denim through deconstruction, reconstruction and experimentation.
Featuring hand-cut layers, raw edges and sculptural forms, the collection transformed a familiar material into bold contemporary pieces.
Meanwhile, Ryan Alami, founder of Authentic Rose, showcased "Third Space," a collection inspired by his Moroccan and Brazilian heritage and his upbringing in Qatar.
The designs blended diverse cultural references, fabrics, color palettes and contemporary tailoring to explore identity through multiple influences and experiences.
The Toronto showcase forms part of a broader program of cultural and creative exchanges taking place throughout the Qatar–Canada and Mexico 2026 Year of Culture, which aims to deepen connections between communities, institutions and creative industries while creating new opportunities for collaboration, innovation and mutual understanding.
