Trump Accuses Iran of Violating Ceasefire with Drone Attack
Washington, June 26 (QNA) - US President Donald Trump has accused Iran of violating a ceasefire agreement, saying Tehran launched a drone attack on a commercial vessel transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said one of the drones struck the ship's upper deck, causing minor damage, but that the vessel was able to continue its voyage. He also said US forces shot down three other drones involved in the attack.
The accusation comes days after the United States and Iran signed an electronic memorandum of understanding on June 17 aimed at ending a conflict that began on February 28 following months of escalating tensions.
The agreement has been widely seen as a step towards reducing tensions in the region. (QNA)
