QSTSS Celebrates Its 5th Cohort of Graduates
Doha, June 24 (QNA) - Qatar Science and Technology Secondary School for Boys (QSTSS) has graduated its fifth cohort of students (2025-2026), with all 56 graduates securing places at universities in Qatar and abroad. HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater attended the graduation ceremony.
Also in attendance were Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs Maha Zayed Qaqaa Alruwaili, and QSTSS School Principal Mohammed Ali Mandani Al Emadi, along with a number of leaders in education, parents, and members of the teaching and administrative staff.
According to MOEHE's statement Wednesday, the graduates achieved a 100 percent university acceptance rate, gaining admission to 14 universities across five countries including Qatar, with seven students having been accepted into globally renowned universities.
Mechanical engineering emerged as the most popular field of study for graduates, followed by medicine and electrical engineering, while other students secured places in disciplines including petroleum and gas engineering, chemical engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, nuclear engineering, and aerospace engineering.
The ministry said the cohort also recorded strong results in international standardized tests, with an average SAT score of 1,169 and a highest score of 1,530. Meanwhile, the average IELTS score reached 7.06, with the top student scoring 8.0.
In her speech during the graduation ceremony, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs Maha Zayed Qaqaa Alruwaili said that QSTSS represents a pioneering educational model that reflects MOEHE's vision of promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education.
She also praised the graduates' academic and research achievements during their studies.
QSTSS' results reflect the success of efforts made to create a generation equipped with the knowledge, skills, and innovative capabilities needed to meet future demands, Alruwaili said, noting that investing in high-quality education is a fundamental pillar for achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030.
For his part, QSTSS School Principal Mohammed Ali Mandani Al Emadi expressed his pride in the graduates' successes and accomplishments, emphasizing the school's continued commitment to graduating academically outstanding students who are capable of competing for seats in the most prestigious universities and scientific disciplines in Qatar and beyond.
Delivering a speech on behalf of parents, Khalid Abdulrahman Al Musleh expressed appreciation for QSTSS's efforts, including its teaching and administrative staff, for supporting the students and developing their academic and personal skills.
The graduates' speech expressed their pride in having been part of QSTSS, highlighting that the education and training they received have provided them with a strong foundation to transition to university and to continue to strive for excellence and achievement.
The ceremony featured highlights of the graduates' academic and research accomplishments, followed by HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education honoring the graduates and handing them their graduation certificates.
QSTSS offers three academic tracks: engineering, medical, and technology. (QNA)
