Berlin, June 24 (QNA) - Qatar Cycling Club's "Cycles" Team Crowned Champions of the GBI Europe 2026 Charity Cycling Tour in Germany for the second consecutive year.

In essence, the initiative leverages charitable projects around the globe by engaging participants in fundraising campaigns dedicated to financing humanitarian and development initiatives in their home countries, as one of the world's leading charitable sporting initiatives.

During their participation, the team raised the slogan "From Qatar to Europe… We Cycle Goodness by Bicycle", embodying a humanitarian message aimed at employing sport in the service of society and promoting a culture of charitable and volunteer work through support for humanitarian projects around the globe.

Hundreds of cyclists from different nationalities and cultures participated in this tour, setting off from the Czech capital, Prague, and making their way to the German city of Düsseldorf, home of the Global Biking Initiative, on a sporting and humanitarian trek that combined physical challenge with charitable engagement.

During the 2026 edition, participants traversed several cities as well as tourist and historical areas in the Czech Republic and Germany. The tour provided them with the opportunity to explore a variety of cultural and natural landmarks and enjoy a unique sporting and humanitarian experience that combines challenge and discovery.

Qatar's first-place achievement in the event marks a milestone that reflects success in mobilizing support for charitable initiatives, underscoring the active presence of Qatari teams in sports initiatives with a humanitarian dimension, combining athletic excellence with community engagement.

GBI was founded in 2008 and has since become one of the leading global platforms for fundraising for humanitarian and goodness initiatives through cycling and by engaging participants in such campaigns.

The GBI tour is characterized by its ability to bring together people from multiple backgrounds and cultures under the umbrella of a shared humanitarian goal, contributing to forging bridges of communication and friendship among participants, while also promoting the values of collaboration, solidarity, and social responsibility.
