Iraq Halts West Qurna-2 Oil Pumping, Cuts Output 50%
Baghdad, June 24 (QNA) - Iraq's Basra Oil Company said it has fully suspended pumping from the West Qurna-2 oil field and reduced production by 50 percent, citing force majeure and a shortage of tankers.
It said output has been cut to 50,000 barrels per day, with production stored in available tanks starting Tuesday evening.
The decision comes amid a decline in Iraqi oil prices and broader weakness in global crude markets.
Meanwhile, North Oil Company said technical work on the Iraq–Turkiye pipeline is complete, with trial pumping expected within two weeks ahead of resuming stable exports. (QNA)
