Shura Council Praises HH the Amir's Participation in G7 Summit
Doha, June 22 (QNA) - The Shura Council held its regular weekly session on Monday at Tamim bin Hamad Hall under the chairmanship of HE Speaker Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim.
The Council praised HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's participation in the G7 Summit, at the invitation of President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron, affirming that it reflects Qatar's prominent international standing and the growing recognition of His Highness's role in promoting dialogue and supporting security and stability.
The Council also emphasized that HH the Amir's participation in the working session titled "Overcoming Crises and Enhancing Stability in the Middle East" underscored Qatar's pivotal role in advancing diplomatic solutions, safeguarding international navigation and trade, and strengthening international cooperation in addressing shared challenges.
HE Secretary-General of the Shura Council Nayef bin Mohammed Al Mahmoud then read out the agenda, and the Council approved the minutes of its previous meeting.
The Council approved the draft law on animal welfare in its amended form and referred it to the government after reviewing the report of the Health, Public Services and Environment Affairs Committee and discussing its provisions.
HE Speaker Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim informed the Council that the draft law amending certain provisions of the Civil and Commercial Procedures Law, issued by Law No. (13) of 1990, had been referred to the Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee for study in accordance with Article (114) of the Shura Council's Internal Regulations.
The Council also reviewed the report on its delegation's participation in the 41st session of the Executive Committee of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, held virtually in April, as well as reports on the participation of HE Khalid bin Abbas Kamal Al Emadi, member of the Council, in the 18th General Assembly of the Arab Scout Parliamentary Union hosted by Morocco in May, and HE Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti in the IPU Global Conference of Women Parliamentarians held in Serbia in June.
