Israeli Occupation Army Approves Construction of 576 New Colonial Units in West Bank
Ramallah, June 17 (QNA) - The Israeli occupation army on Wednesday sanctioned plans to build 576 new colonial units in settlements in the West Bank, alongside a building with a space of 1,000 square meters in the heart of Hebron City.
Among the plans ratified by the Higher Planning Council of the Civil Administration -a unit operating under the Israeli occupation army- is the construction of 456 residential units in Mitzpe Yeriho settlement in the Jericho Governorate, the Palestinian (WAFA) News Agency reported.
The agency added that the plans also include building 120 units in Karnei Shomron settlement, located in the northern West Bank.
Months earlier, the Israeli cabinet had sanctioned this move based on a motion broached by the finance minister in the occupation government, under which the planning powers in Al-Ibrahimi Mosque are removed from Hebron Municipality and transferred to the occupation authorities. (QNA)
