Manila, June 15 (QNA) - A 6.2-magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale struck off the southern coast of the Philippines Monday evening, just one week after a stronger earthquake hit the same region, killing at least 65 people.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the earthquake occurred off the coast of Mindanao Island at a depth of 112 kilometers.

In turn, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology stated that no tsunami warning had been issued.

Kaiser Cadiz of the Davao Oriental Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office said in a statement that there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage. (QNA)
