Lebanese Parliament Speaker Praises US-Iran MoU, Hails Qatar's Role
Beirut, June 15 (QNA) - President of the Lebanese National Assembly, Nabih Berri, on Monday, welcomed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) announced between the United States and Iran.
Berri praised the efforts of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Arab Republic of Egypt in helping secure the agreement, which lays the groundwork for security and stability across the region, including Lebanon.
In a statement issued by the Lebanese parliament, the house speaker expressed appreciation to both Washington and Tehran for insisting on the inclusion of a binding provision to halt Israeli attacks on all Lebanese territory.
He added that such a provision would help safeguard Lebanon's sovereignty across its territory and does not contradict its independence, freedom, and sovereign, national decision-making. (QNA)
