Washington, June 13 (QNA) - US President Donald Trump announced that an agreement with Iran is scheduled to be signed on Sunday, and confirmed that the Strait of Hormuz will be opened to all immediately after the deal is signed.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote: "The deal is scheduled to get signed tomorrow, and immediately after it is signed, the Hormuz Strait is open to all."
The US president expressed his hope that the process will all work out quickly, easily, and smoothly.
He emphasized that the US would not release any frozen Iranian assets after the agreement is signed, as the Obama administration did.
"Our relationship with Iran is a much different and better one than previous Administrations," Trump added, stressing that "Iran no longer wants a nuclear weapon and will not have one, whether through development, purchase or any other form of procurement."
Trump issued a warning to Tehran, saying: "If it doesn't, we have the ultimate alternative."
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had announced earlier today that an agreement between the US and Iran was likely to be signed within the next 24 hours. (QNA)
