GCC Secretary-General Denounces Malicious Media Allegations Against Qatar and the UAE
Riyadh, June 13 (QNA) - Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, has vehemently condemned the malicious media allegations and unverifiable information circulating against the United Arab Emirates and the State of Qatar.
He stressed that these allegations and information intend to cast doubt on the positions of those nations and their constructive role in supporting regional and global security and stability.
In a statement on Saturday, Albudaiwi underlined that these allegations lack credibility and objective foundations and serve to vitiate the sincere efforts made by the GCC states to consolidate security and stability, as well as dialogue and co-operation among the countries of the region.
"Over the past years, the UAE and the State of Qatar have provided a pioneering model in adopting policies that support regional stability through their active contributions to bridging views, supporting diplomatic endeavors, and enhancing international co-operation to address the challenges and crises facing the region, reflecting a responsible approach aimed at consolidating security and achieving development and prosperity for their peoples", Albudaiwi explained.
Albudaiwi further stressed that the GCC nations are moving forward steadily in their approach based on bolstering stability and co-operation, and that they unequivocally reject any media campaigns aimed at offending any of their members.
He underscored that such campaigns won't affect their cohesion and unity, or their unwavering dedication to performing their pivotal role in supporting security, stability, and prosperity on both the regional and global stages. (QNA)
