London, June 11 (QNA) - British Defense Secretary John Healey announced his resignation today following a dispute over military spending, accusing Prime Minister Keir Starmer of failing to allocate the necessary government resources for the country's defense.

In his resignation letter to Starmer, Healey stated, "You have been unable, and the Treasury unwilling" to provide the resources needed during growing global threats."

The delay has angered the British defense sector, which argues it cannot invest in long-term national security programs amidst significant geopolitical volatility and the United States' apparent disengagement from European security.

Britain's defence and finance ministries have been in talks for months about how to meet growing demands for increased military spending, delaying the UK's defense investment plan since last year. (QNA)
