Cairo, May 04 (QNA) - Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty discussed regional developments and ways to strengthen bilateral relations in two phone calls, one with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, and one with his Tanzanian counterpart, Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, Monday.

The Egyptian and Russian Foreign Ministers addressed developments related to US-Iran negotiations.

In this context, Abdelatty stressed the need to support all efforts aimed at de-escalation and reducing tensions, and to rely on dialogue and diplomacy to reach consensual understandings that take into account all parties' concerns.

This last point, the Egyptian Foreign Minister noted, should help consolidate a ceasefire, end the war, and restore security and stability in the region.

As for the Egyptian and Tanzanian Foreign Ministers, they discussed African updates, focusing on the Horn of Africa and the Great Lakes region.

Both sides emphasized the importance of supporting national state institutions, respecting states' unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and rejecting any actions that could undermine their stability or weaken their national institutions.

Abdelatty and Kombo also highlighted the importance of adopting comprehensive approaches to addressing Africa's security and development challenges. (QNA)
