Occupied Jerusalem, May 31 (QNA) - Jerusalem Governorate deemed hoisting the occupation's flags inside the compound of Al-Aqsa Mosque and performing provocative rites there to be an official Israeli, methodical, and meticulously planned policy spearheaded by the extreme occupation government.

The occupation strives to impose new realities in occupied East Jerusalem by force and blunt the existing historic and legal status quo in Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Governorate emphasized in a statement.

The statement added that this policy is part of a constant colonial plan that intends to divide the Mosque in terms of spatial and temporal patterns, something that is openly rejected.

The occupation intends to Judaize the city and obliterate its religious and historic identity, as well as alter its legal, civilizational, and demographic nature, in a vivid violation of international law, the statement warned.

Dozens of colonizers, under maximum security enforced by the Israeli police, broke into the Al-Aqsa compound on Sunday and unfurled the flags of the occupation state at the perimeter of the Dome of the Rock.

Al-Aqsa Mosque is coming under increasing incursions by colonizers, posing a perilous escalation and a violation of its sanctity. (QNA)
