Doha, May 31 (QNA) - Aspire Dome is hosting a new iteration of the 2026 Track Races, organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation (QSFA) under the Ministry of Sports and Youth, in June 2026.
The highly anticipated races include four rounds that will be staged inside the Dome, allowing the participation of all age groups, including men, women, and children.
The first round kicks off on Friday, June 5, starting from 8 a.m., with the remaining rounds proceeding weekly on June 12, 19, and 26.
The event is highly anticipated to feature splendid and mesmerizing atmospheres that combine challenge with rejoicing, manifesting the QSFA's vision and promoting its constant pursuit of deepening the communal sports culture.
The races are conducted in a timed race format featuring multiple race-duration categories, ranging from 15 to 30 minutes for adults ages 17 and older, 10 minutes for junior divisions ages 7-17, and 5-minute races for children ages 3-6.
The format is designed to encourage broad participation, with winners determined by the most laps completed around the track while providing a level playing field for all competitors.
Executive Director of QSFA, Abdullah Al Dosari, affirmed that such races have become an effective sports platform that significantly helps reinforce family participation in physical workouts.
These kinds of races record strong turnout from families that are keen to participate, he highlighted, adding that the move demonstrates the positive impact generated by these miscellaneous events, along with their role in deepening the notion of sports as a lifestyle.
These races, Al Dosari noted, offer a phenomenal environment and air-conditioned facilities that are perfectly outfitted to encourage contenders to participate regularly in such races, which the QSFA is accustomed to organizing throughout the year.
Positioned as a superb opening for summer activities, this series is overall replete with numerous sports and recreational events that are meant to fill the leisure time of children during summer breaks with everything that is spellbinding and beneficial.
These kinds of programs represent one of the effective means of achieving the Ministry's objectives in promoting the culture of sports and awareness of the importance of maintaining physical workouts. (QNA)
