Qatar Takes Part in World Urban Forum in Baku
Baku, May 21 (QNA) - The State of Qatar took part in the thirteenth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Azerbaijan, under the theme "Housing the world: Safe and resilient cities and communities."
A delegation from the Ministry of Social Development and Family represented Qatar at the forum headed by Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development Affairs at the Ministry of Social Development and Family Fahd Mohammed Al Khayarin.
The Qatari delegation included a number of senior officials and specialists. This participation reflects Qatar's commitment to strengthening its presence at international forums and exchanging global expertise in the field of sustainable urban development and innovative housing solutions.
During the forum sessions, Al Khayarin addressed several topics related to ‘Experiences and effective financing solutions to enable individuals to own homes in housing projects’, emphasizing that Qatar National Vision 2030 prioritizes family and social stability through the development of a comprehensive housing system.
Al Khayarin noted that Qatar's experience has witnessed a thorough transformation from traditional housing projects to the development of smart cities and integrated communities such as Lusail City and the Msheireb Downtown Doha project, which is the world's first fully sustainable urban regeneration project.
He also highlighted the Ministry's digital successes, particularly the unified national platform 'Binaa', which has streamlined housing and financing procedures to record levels, transforming the citizen's journey into a flexible digital system.
Al Khayarin concluded by emphasizing the importance of activating partnerships with the banking sector to reduce the workload and expedite completion, stressing that the future of housing lies in balancing innovation, sustainability, and social privacy. (QNA)
