Makkah Al Mukarramah, May 21 (QNA) - HE Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and Head of the Qatari Hajj Mission, Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem Al Ghanem inaugurated today the medical unit of the Qatari Hajj Mission in the sacred sites of Saudi Arabia as part of the mission's comprehensive preparations to provide the highest standards of healthcare for Qatari pilgrims.
The initiative aims to enable pilgrims from the State of Qatar to perform their Hajj rituals in a safe and reassuring environment through an integrated medical system operating around the clock across the various pilgrimage sites.
During the visit, HE the Head of the Mission inspected the clinics designated for men and women, including triage and rapid assessment rooms, observation and medical isolation rooms, and pharmacies fully equipped with medicines, treatments, and essential medical supplies. He also reviewed the advanced technical and medical equipment installed at the clinics in accordance with the highest healthcare standards.
HE the Minister was briefed by Head of the Medical Unit of the Qatari Hajj Mission, Dr. Khalid Abdulhadi, on the readiness of the medical clinics and the operational plans in place for the Hajj season. Dr. Abdulhadi explained that the unit includes a distinguished team of specialists in family medicine, emergency medicine, infectious diseases, and ear, nose, and throat care, in addition to nursing, ambulance, and pharmacy teams, ensuring comprehensive and integrated healthcare services for Qatari pilgrims.
Dr. Abdulhadi affirmed that the medical unit operates 24 hours a day through qualified medical and technical personnel capable of handling various health conditions and emergencies.
He added that the unit's strategy extends beyond treatment to include prevention, monitoring, rapid response, and full coordination with relevant health authorities in both the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He stressed that the safety and wellbeing of Qatari pilgrims remain a top priority, noting that the State has mobilized all available resources and qualified medical personnel to safeguard pilgrims throughout their Hajj journey.
Dr. Abdulhadi further noted that the medical services unit operates within an integrated coordination framework involving the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, the Ministry of Public Health, Hamad Medical Corporation, and the Primary Health Care Corporation, alongside close cooperation with Saudi health authorities. He said this reflects the strong collaboration among state institutions to deliver the highest standards of healthcare and medical services to Qatari pilgrims.
During the inauguration, HE the Minister also launched the "Rapid Response Ambulance Scooter" and the updated version of the innovative emergency suit, the "HT Rescue Jacket." Both will be deployed during the current Hajj season to support rapid medical intervention in the sacred sites, particularly in crowded areas and locations difficult for ambulances to access.
Meanwhile, the Qatari Hajj Mission commended the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its significant efforts in serving the pilgrims, highlighting the advanced healthcare and organizational capabilities and integrated operational system it has provided. These resources have contributed to enhancing the quality of healthcare provided to pilgrims and facilitating the performance of the Hajj rituals in a safe and healthy environment.
The Mission emphasized that ongoing coordination with the Saudi Ministry of Health effectively contributes to strengthening the readiness of field medical services and ensuring rapid response to emergencies, positively impacting the well-being of Qatari pilgrims and all other pilgrims.
These efforts reflect Qatar's commitment to providing a safe and accessible Hajj experience for its pilgrims by offering advanced healthcare services according to the highest international standards, in line with the Third National Development Strategy and Qatar National Vision 2030.
These preparations also align with the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs' 2025-2030 strategy, which prioritizes Hajj within the framework of promoting and facilitating Islamic rituals, improving the quality of services provided to pilgrims, and enhancing beneficiary satisfaction.
