Iraq and UN Emphasize Joint Cooperation in Supporting Reform Plans
Baghdad, May 21 (QNA) - Iraq's President Nizar Amidi emphasizes United Nations Support for Sustainable Development for government programmes aimed at achieving sustainable development and enhancing stability in the country.
The remarks came during his meeting with UN Resident Coordinator in Iraq Ghulam Mohammad Ishaq.
The two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between Iraq and the United Nations, particularly in supporting development and humanitarian programmes and coordinating efforts to consolidate stability and advance reform plans.
The Iraqi President highlighted the role of the United Nations in supporting Iraq and its institutions, affirming his country's commitment to continuing efforts to enhance stability and promote development across various sectors.
He also underscored the importance of UN support for government programmes aimed at achieving sustainable development and creating an environment conducive to progress and prosperity.
For his part, Ishaq reaffirmed the United Nations' commitment to continuing coordination with the relevant Iraqi authorities in a manner that supports national priorities and strengthens joint efforts across various fields. (QNA)
