Khartoum, May 21 (QNA) - The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Sudan said missing persons since the outbreak of armed conflict have reached 8,000.
ICRC spokesperson Adnan Azam said the figure since April 15, 2023 stands at 8,000, while total missing across Sudan's conflicts is about 11,000.
He said dialogue continues with all parties to secure safe, unhindered humanitarian access to protect and assist affected communities, stressing it is essential under international humanitarian law.
The United Nations described Sudan's situation as the world's largest humanitarian crisis, with around 12 million displaced and half the population facing food insecurity. (QNA)
