Doha, May 20 (QNA) - The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC), represented by the Department of Hazardous Chemicals and Waste, announced that it will start accepting applications for the annual hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) import quotas.
Open to companies that meet the specified quota criteria, the application period will span from June 1 to July 31, in preparation for determining import quotas for 2027, the MECC's statement said on Wednesday.
It added that this step comes within the State of Qatar's efforts to fulfill its international obligations under the Vienna Convention and the Montreal Protocol, and pursuant to the Ministry's Resolution No. 20 of 2022 concerning determining quotas and regulating the import of hydrochlorofluorocarbons and equipment using them.
The MECC called on eligible companies to attach all required documents in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, to submit them via the Department of Hazardous Chemicals and Waste services portal on the Ministry's website.
The Ministry stressed the importance of fulfilling all necessary requirements and adhering to the specified timeframe, for applications to be processed and quotas set.
The MECC urged applicant parties to comply with the specified deadline. (QNA)
