Omani Delegation Reviews Qatar's Rehabilitation, Correctional Experience
Doha, May 20 (QNA) - Department of Penal and Correctional Institutions received a delegation from Oman's Ministry of Interior during a visit aimed at exploring expertise and best practices in rehabilitation and correctional work.
The delegation was welcomed by Director of the Penal and Correctional Institutions Department Major General Nasser Mohammed Issa Al Sayed; Assistant Director Colonel Yousef Bilal Al Abdullah; and Assistant Director General of Communications and Information Systems Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Jassim Khalid Al Hamar; along with several officers.
Headed by HE Major General Khalifa bin Ali Al Siyabi, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Administrative Affairs, the Omani delegation was briefed on key programs and initiatives implemented at Qatar's correctional institutions, particularly rehabilitation, training, and social and healthcare services provided to inmates.
The visit also highlighted efforts to advance an integrated correctional environment that upholds international humanitarian standards and supports social reintegration.
The delegation further toured a number of facilities and services and received an overview of operational mechanisms and procedures followed in managing and operating correctional institutions, within the framework of strengthening security cooperation and exchanging expertise between the Ministries of Interior of the State of Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman.
