European Stocks Drop as Caution Rises in Markets
Brussels, April 09 (QNA) - European stocks dropped on Thursday, after recording their biggest daily gain in four years in the previous session, as investor caution increased over the durability of the truce between the United States and Iran and its potential implications for oil prices and global inflation.
The pan-European STOXX Europe 600 index fell 0.2 percent to 612.06 points.
European bourses showed mixed performance, as Germany's DAX fell 0.5 percent, while Britain's FTSE 100 rose 0.2 percent.
The industrial sector sub-index exerted the biggest pressure on the STOXX 600, falling 0.6 percent.
Sub-indices for travel and leisure, banks, and technology companies also declined.
In contrast, the energy sector sub-index topped the gainers, rising 1 percent, supported by higher oil prices during Thursday's trading. (QNA)
