Singapore, April 27 (QNA) - The US dollar fluctuated on Monday amid anticipation in the markets regarding developments in the Middle East and their impact on the global economy.
The dollar index, which measures the performance of the US currency against rival currencies, settled at 98.465 points, down 0.18%.
In the currency markets, the euro was traded little changed at $1.1726, having recovered from earlier losses, while the pound sterling fell to $1.3544, amid cautious trading by investors.
For its part, the Japanese yen settled at 159.26 against the dollar, remaining close to the 160 level, which raises concerns about intervention by Japanese authorities in the foreign exchange market, while the yen has been moving within a narrow range since early March. (QNA)
