Doha, April 26 (QNA) - Al Sadd coach Roberto Mancini and Al Shamal Coach David Prats spoke to the media ahead of their 2025-2026 Doha Bank Stars League Week 22 match slated for Monday.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Al Sadd head coach Roberto Mancini said his side had once held a five-point lead over Al Shamal before it was reduced to two, stressing that full focus is now on securing victory despite the challenge posed by an in-form opponent.

Mancini noted that when he took charge, Al Sadd trailed league leaders Al Gharafa by eight points, but managed to climb to the top of the standings.

He described the turnaround as a reflection of the players' quality, professionalism, and hard work, expressing hope for a strong turnout of supporters in what he called a crucial match; one that would secure the title with a win.

For his part, Al Shamal head coach David Prats underlined both the importance and difficulty of the encounter, describing it as his team's most significant match of the season. He said the club is aiming to achieve a historic milestone by winning its first-ever league title.

The Spanish coach added that the team is facing a defining moment that requires thorough preparation without placing excessive pressure on the players, while acknowledging the scale of the challenge against a club of Al Sadd's stature.

Al Sadd enter the match at the top of the table with 42 points, while Al Shamal sit second with 40 points, heightening the stakes in what will decide the league title. (QNA)
