Sanya, China, April 23 (QNA) - Qatar national beach handball team continued their strong campaign at the Asian Beach Games Sanya 2026, securing back-to-back 2–0 victories over Bangladesh and Mongolia to maintain a perfect start in the group stage.

The defending champions now have four consecutive wins, having earlier beaten Pakistan and Oman, underlining their title ambitions.

In beach volleyball, Qatar's men's teams also opened strongly. The first team, featuring Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan, cruised past the Maldives in straight sets, while the second team of Mohamed Ehab and Mousa Al Khair defeated Saudi Arabia 2–0.

In the women's competition, Qatar's second team lost to Japan women's national beach volleyball team in their opener.

Elsewhere, Qatar's aquathlon athlete Shaheen Al Kaabi finished 24th, while sailing, jiujitsu and 3x3 basketball competitions are set to continue, with Qatari athletes aiming to build on the country's strong start in Sanya. (QNA)
