Doha, April 19 (QNA) - The Ministry of Municipality has launched a modern fleet of environmentally friendly vehicles and equipment, as part of its efforts to promote environmental sustainability and develop the efficiency of the municipal services system in the country.

Assistant Undersecretary for Public Services Affairs Eng. Abdullah Ahmed Al Karani emphasized that this step reflects the ministry's commitment to adopting best environmental practices, pointing to its role in raising the efficiency of field work and improving air quality.

In turn, Director of the Mechanical Equipment Sherida Sultan Al Rumaihi highlighted that the introduction of this fleet represents a qualitative leap in supporting operational processes. He indicated that the vehicles were selected according to the highest technical and environmental specifications, in line with the latest global technologies and enhancing safety and efficiency levels, within the framework of achieving sustainable development goals.

These vehicles operate with "Euro 6" engines, which are classified according to the highest global environmental standards, contributing to reducing harmful emissions and improving fuel efficiency, in addition to reducing noise and enhancing traffic safety through modern systems that include warning lights and reflective elements.

The fleet includes a range of modern specialized vehicles, including ambulances, refrigerated vehicles, street washing and garbage collection vehicles, container carriers, along with a street sweeper, beach cleaning tractor, and advanced waste collection vehicles, which contributes to raising the efficiency of public cleaning operations and improving the level of services provided, in line with the requirements of sustainable cities.
