Egypt, Kuwait FMs Hold Political Consultations on Regional Developments and Bilateral Relations
Cairo, April 19 (QNA) - Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held political consultations on Sunday with his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, currently visiting Cairo, focusing on joint coordination regarding regional and international developments, as well as enhancing bilateral relations.
The consultations addressed efforts to de-escalate tensions and end the war in the region, along with the latest developments in US-Iran negotiations.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister briefed his Kuwaiti counterpart on the outcomes of his recent visit to Washington and the quadrilateral meeting held on Saturday in Antalya, Turkiye, involving the foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkiye.
In this context, Abdelatty stressed Egypt's position on the need of taking into account the security concerns of Gulf states in any future regional arrangements, affirming that Kuwait's security is an integral part of Egypt's national security. He also underscored the importance of strengthening coordination and joint Arab action to address current challenges.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister reiterated Egypt's firm and supportive stance toward Kuwait, expressing full condemnation of attacks targeting Kuwait's security and stability, and a complete rejection of any attempts to undermine its sovereignty.
He also affirmed Egypt's full support for the measures taken by Kuwait to safeguard its security, commending in this regard Kuwait's support for the Egyptian community during the current sensitive circumstances.
For his part, Kuwait's Foreign Minister expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt's supportive positions, praising Egypt's pivotal role in supporting regional security and stability, as well as its ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions and strengthen Arab solidarity. (QNA)
