Speaker of Shura Council Discusses Parliamentary Cooperation with Speaker of Turkish Grand National Assembly

Istanbul, April 17 (QNA) - HE Speaker of the Shura Council, Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim met Friday with HE Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye Professor Numan Kurtulmus, on the sidelines of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), currently being held in Istanbul.

Discussions during the meeting dealt with bilateral parliamentary cooperation relations between the two sides and ways to strengthen and develop them in a manner that serves common interests.

They also discussed the most prominent topics on the IPU Assembly's agenda and exchanged views on them, particularly regarding the emergency item submitted by the State of Qatar, represented by the Shura Council, and a number of other countries, with the support of geopolitical groups within the IPU.

Both sides emphasized the importance of supporting the emergency item submitted by the State of Qatar, given its role in contributing to the consolidation of international peace and security, promoting a ceasefire, and strengthening international efforts aimed at containing conflicts.

HE the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye also praised the strength of the Qatari-Turkish relations. (QNA)
