Athens, April 17 (QNA) - Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met Friday with Palestinian Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries and the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and the Middle East region.
During the meeting, Al Sheikh highlighted the seriousness of the Israeli escalation in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, the expansion of settlements, annexation attempts, and settler terrorism.
He called on European countries to pressure the Israeli occupation to release the Palestinian funds it is withholding.
He stressed the importance of continuing his country's political coordination with Greece and the European Union (EU) and working together to implement the two-state solution.
He reiterated his call for Greece to recognize the State of Palestine as a step towards achieving peace. (QNA)
