Beijing, April 13 (QNA) - Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi affirmed Monday that his country's top priority is to exert every effort to prevent a renewed conflict in the Middle East and maintain the hard-won momentum for a ceasefire.

This came during a telephone conversation between the Chinese Foreign Minister and his Pakistani counterpart, Muhammad Ishaq Dar.

Wang Yi urged the international community to intensify efforts to promote peace and dialogue, and to take a clear stance against any action that could undermine the ceasefire or escalate the confrontation.

For his part, the Pakistani Foreign Minister briefed his Chinese counterpart on Pakistan's mediation efforts to facilitate talks between Iran and the US, expressing his appreciation for China's efforts to promote peace.

He also expressed Pakistan's determination to maintain close communication and coordination with China in order to play a constructive role in jointly achieving regional peace. (QNA)
