Ongoing War to Have Severe Consequences, Warns Egyptian President
Cairo, March 09 (QNA) - The ongoing war in the region would have steep humanitarian, economic, and security consequences, adding that the region is going through a delicate and watershed moment, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El‑Sisi said on Monday.
While condemning the aggression against its sister Arab nations, Egypt calls for giving a chance to halt the war and explore peaceful solutions, El‑Sisi added, emphasizing that nothing short of dialogue would lead to settlements; there are no solutions without negotiation, and no peace without understanding that ensures security, shields gains, and protects peoples from the scourges of war.
On the other hand, El‑Sisi stated that the Palestinian cause represents the essence of the conflict in the Middle East, outlining that Egypt's current position is crystal clear: there can be no peace without justice, and no stability without an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He reiterated Egypt's unequivocal rejection of any attempts to displace the Palestinian people from their territory, stressing the importance of rapidly surging humanitarian aid, initiating reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, and launching a new political pathway that leads to the establishment of Palestinian statehood as the sole way to end this tragedy and achieve a just and lasting peace in the region.
