Muslim World League Supports Statement Regarding Israeli Restrictions on Places of Worship
Mecca, March 31 (QNA) - The Muslim World League expressed full support for the statement issued by the foreign ministers of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Pakistan, Indonesia, Turkey, and United Arab Emirates, condemning Israel's continued restrictions on Muslim and Christian worship in occupied Jerusalem.
The League reiterated its rejection of the closures of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and barriers preventing Christians from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
It emphasized the statement's call for Israel, as the occupying power, to lift restrictions, ensure free access to holy sites, and for the international community to take firm action against ongoing violations, which constitute clear breaches of international and humanitarian law and undermine the historical and legal status of these sacred places.
These measures, the League said, constitute a blatant violation of international law, including international humanitarian law, as well as a breach of the existing historical and legal status, and represent an infringement on the unrestricted right of access to places of worship. (QNA)
