Palestinian Prime Minister, EU Envoy Discuss Latest Developments in Palestine
Ramallah, March 26 (QNA) - Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa and European Union's special representative for the Middle East peace process Christophe Bigot discussed on Thursday the latest political developments and the situation on the ground in the Palestinian territories, including Jerusalem.
The Palestinian Prime Minister stressed the importance of intensifying international efforts and pressure on Israel to halt the dangerous escalation in the West Bank, particularly attacks by Israeli colonists, as well as Israeli measures including obstacles and checkpoints restricting the movement of people and goods. He also pointed to Israel's continued withholding of Palestinian tax revenues for nearly a year.
Mustafa added that regional conflicts should not divert attention from the Gaza Strip, stressing the importance of advancing the initiative proposed by President Trump and implementing relevant United Nations resolutions. He also emphasized the need to proceed with recovery and reconstruction plans, ensure an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, and unify institutions in Gaza and the West Bank under the State of Palestine.
