Israeli Forces Bar Eid Prayers at Al Aqsa Mosque
Jerusalem, March 20 (QNA) - Israeli forces prevented Palestinians from accessing the Al Aqsa Mosque compound for Eid Al Fitr prayers, as the site remained closed for the 21st consecutive day, forcing hundreds to pray in surrounding streets.
Witnesses reported the use of stun grenades and tear gas near Bab Al Sahira, while at least one arrest was made amid tight restrictions.
Despite the measures, worshippers gathered at nearby points, performing prayers and chanting Eid takbirs in defiance.
Jerusalem authorities condemned the closure as a serious escalation and a violation of freedom of worship, calling for urgent international intervention. (QNA)
