UAE Says Air Defenses Intercept Iranian Missile and Drone Attacks
Abu Dhabi, March 18 (QNA) - The United Arab Emirates has said its air defense systems were responding to missile and drone attacks launched from Iran.
In a statement issued late on Tuesday, the Ministry of Defense said the sounds heard across various parts of the country were the result of interception operations.
It said air defense systems had engaged ballistic missiles, while fighter aircraft were deployed to intercept drones and cruise drones.
Earlier, the ministry reported that its forces had intercepted 10 ballistic missiles and 45 drones approaching the country from Iran.
The developments come amid heightened regional tensions, with Gulf states on alert over escalating security threats. (QNA)
