Jordanian Foreign Minister Praises UNRWA's Humanitarian Role in Gaza
Amman, March 17 (QNA) - Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi met in Amman on Tuesday with Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini.
The two sides went over the significant humanitarian role UNRWA undertakes in Gaza, which is still facing a humanitarian catastrophe due to the devastation caused by the Israeli aggression, along with the persistent restrictions imposed by the Israeli occupation on access to sufficient and sustainable aid to the enclave.
Safadi stressed the criticality of ensuring UNRWA's constant operation to provide critical life-saving services for Palestinian refugees based on its UN mandate across the five areas of operations.
He emphasized that What matters most is the cessation of the Israeli methodical strangulation campaign, along with the unlawfully imposed restrictions on UNRWA and its vital role in the occupied Palestinian territories. (QNA)
