Two Drones Shot Down in Baghdad, Explosion Rocks Babil Province
Baghdad, March 17 (QNA) - Iraqi air defenses shot down two drones over the capital, Baghdad, Tuesday evening.
A security source said that Iraqi air defenses at Baghdad Airport shot down a drone that attempted to approach the airport's diplomatic support center.
The source added that air defenses belonging to the US Embassy in Baghdad also shot down another drone that attempted to approach the embassy.
The source noted that plumes of smoke rose from the vicinity of the embassy as a result of the system's failure to intercept another drone.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi Media Crisis Cell reported that a large explosion rocked Babil province in central Iraq, confirming that the relevant authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances.
The capital, Baghdad, has been subjected to numerous drone attacks since the outbreak of the crisis in the Middle East. (QNA)
