Cairo, March 11 (QNA) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, went over the rapidly evolving developments in the Middle East and the efforts aimed at de-escalation and the promotion of calm, during a phone conversation Wednesday.
Abdelatty warned of the serious repercussions of the continued cycle of violence and the widening scope of conflict in the Middle East, underscoring the importance of coordinated regional and international efforts to reduce the ongoing escalation, contain the conflict, and prevent the region from sliding into further tension and instability.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister affirmed the need to prioritize de-escalation, diplomacy, and dialogue.
Both sides also touched on the draft resolution being presented at the United Nations Security Council concerning the rapidly evolving developments in the region, in addition to the need to continue political efforts aimed at reaching peaceful settlements to crises through dialogue and diplomatic means, in a manner that preserves regional and international security and stability.
