Doha, March 11 (QNA) - HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani received a phone call today from HM King Willem-Alexander of the friendly Kingdom of the Netherlands.

At the outset of the call, HM King expressed reassurance regarding the situation in the State of Qatar in the wake of recent developments following the savage Iranian aggression, emphasizing that the Kingdom of the Netherlands backs the State of Qatar and stands in full solidarity with it. He considered this aggression a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the State of Qatar and other nations in the region.

In the meantime, HM King praised the role of the Qatar Armed Forces in repelling the Iranian aggression, and lauded the efforts being undertaken by the relevant authorities in Qatar in dealing with these developments. He noted the role played by the State of Qatar as a fair and reliable mediator in regional and global issues.

For his part, HH the Amir expressed his thanks and gratitude to HM King of the Netherlands for his genuine sentiments, as well as his support and solidarity with the State of Qatar, reassuring HM King of the situation of Dutch nationals residing in the country, along with the prioritized care and attention the State of Qatar affords to those nationals and those who reside on its land.

At the conclusion of the call, both sides underscored the criticality of de-escalation in the region and of upholding diplomacy and peaceful solutions as an overriding priority. They stressed that dialogue remains the only way to address crises and achieve security and stability in the region and the world. (QNA)
