UAE Condemns Drone Attack on Its Consulate in Iraq's Kurdistan Region
Abu Dhabi, March 10 (QNA) - The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned a drone attack that targeted its consulate in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, causing material damage but no injuries.
In a statement, the UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the incident as a "treacherous attack" and said targeting diplomatic missions constitutes a flagrant violation of international norms and laws.
The ministry said such acts breach the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which guarantees full protection and immunity for diplomatic premises and staff, warning that the attack represents a serious escalation and a threat to regional security and stability.
The UAE called on the governments of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region to investigate the incident, identify those responsible and ensure they are held accountable.
It also reaffirmed the UAE's firm rejection of attacks aimed at undermining security and stability, stressing the need to protect diplomatic missions and their personnel in accordance with international law. (QNA)
